Liam Gallagher issues apology for racial slur as Oasis reunion nears

Liam Gallagher apologizes for racial slur amid Oasis reunion preps

Liam Gallagher just apologized for the use of an unintentional racial slur.

The iconic British legend, who is set to reunite with his brother, Noel Gallagher for the highly anticipated Oasis Live ’25 tour, marking their return after 16 long years, acknowledged his mistake of using inappropriate language.

Liam, who is set to kick off the gig Principality Stadium in Cardiff on July 4, and perform a second night on July 5, will then head to multiple locations across UK and Ireland, including, Heaton Park in Manchester, Wembley Stadium in London, Croke Park in Dublin and Murrayfield Stadium in Edinburgh.

On Tuesday, the Wonderwall hitmaker posted an anti-Asian slur, “chingchong” on his X, formerly Twitter account, which led to huge backlash.

In response, one fan wrote, “Liam you can’t say that,” to which Liam asked, “Why” while another concerned fan told him that he “might get cancelled today,” to which the front man nonchalantly replied, “Whatever.”

However, later, he deleted the post mentioning the racially inappropriate word, penning an apology that read:

“Sorry if I offended anyone with my tweet before it wasn’t intentional you know I love you all and I do not discriminate. Peace and love.”

This also not the first time Liam has come under fire for using racial slurs as back in 2022, during the World Cup, he posted the ableist slur “mong,” aimed at then-England manager Gareth Southgate.

In another old post, he wrote “Fuck you woke spastics.” And even though, both the posts were deleted by the Oasis star, he didn’t address them.

Now, two days before Liam and Noel Gallagher reunite on stage for their reunion tour, it seems only fitting that the stars do their best to keep people from being disappointed, especially when they are already quite close to having a rather legendary reunion.
