Jackie Chan’s last post amid death rumours ‘Longtime no see’

Jackie Chan looks happy, and in good spirits in his most last social media post before the recent death hoax.

The latest controversy began on Monday, November 10, when AI-generated images of The Karate Kid star lying in a hospital bed started circulating online, causing confusion and concern among fans.

Some of the posts falsely claimed confirmation from his wife and daughter, alleging, “Jackie Chan, 71, passes away after a battle with complications from decades of on-set injuries.”

Fans, eager for clarity, turned to the Rush Hour actor’s official Facebook and Instagram accounts, only to find his last post was from four weeks ago.

On October 11, the Hong Kong martial artist and actor shared a carousel of photos from the NBA China Games in Macao, featuring Shaquille O’Neal, David Beckham, and Yao Ming.

The images taken at The Venetian Arena on October 10, showed the stark and hilarious height differences among the four legends.

The series of adorable photos were accompanied with a playful caption. “Ha ha! Long time no see! [smiley face] 哈哈,好久不見!” Chan wrote in Chinese and English.

As per the videos from the event, held last month, the 2016 honorary Oscar winner appeared to be quite active as he embraced Beckham and Shaq energetically and waved at the camera while smiling brightly.

Jackie Chan is alive or dead?

Contrary to the AI-generated photos, Chan, 71, is alive and well. Verified fan accounts have since debunked the false reports, reassuring admirers that the actor is fine.

It is pertinent to note that this is not the first time the legendary actor, famous for performing his own stunts, has been the victim of such unverified rumours.

In 2015, he faced similar claims and reacted to them saying, “I was shocked by two news reports when I got off the plane.”

“First of all, don’t worry! I’m still alive. Second, don’t believe the scam on Weibo using my name about the Red Pockets,” Chan cleared the air himself at that time.
