Gold prices surge in local and global markets

Gold prices in Pakistan rose sharply on Tuesday, mirroring an upward trend in the international market.

According to the All-Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association (APGJSA), the price of gold per tola surged by Rs2,100 to reach Rs349,200.

Similarly, the rate for 10 grams of gold climbed by Rs1,800, settling at Rs299,382.

Internationally, gold prices also saw a notable gain. APGJSA reported the global price at $3,310 per ounce (including a $20 premium), marking a $21 increase in a single day.

This rebound comes a day after gold prices in the local market fell by Rs1,600 per tola, closing at Rs347,100 on Monday.

Meanwhile, silver prices remained unchanged, with the rate holding steady at Rs3,497 per tola.
